DescriptionBuilt by Mackie & Thomson, Glasgow in 1903 for Anchor Line. Named after the engineer Alexander Brown who came to the Company with the first ship Lyttelton. She was employed on all the Company's established services but became particularly popular in the Marlborough Sounds. Converted from steam to diesel in 1931. Sold in 1950 and traded in the Cook Islands until wrecked at Aitutaki in 1951.Date posted25th November 2010
