DescriptionCapt Adam Gullen went to sea in 1949 on whaling ships owned by Salveson & Company. Joined Union Steam Ship Company in 1954 as third officer and apart from a period from 1962 - 1963, when employed as dredgemaster/pilot at Timaru, remained until joining Railways in 1971. First served on ARAMOANA in 1964 and promoted Master in 1969. In 1984 promoted to Fleet Manager until early death in 1993.
