DescriptionThe launch of ARATERE (ARASIX) on 4 September 1998 at H J Barreras Shipbuilders, Vigo, Spain. Arasix was the name given to the ship before its official name was made known. It was the sixth ferry built for New Zealand railways and was originally owned by Arasix Shipping, registered in Burmuda and chartered to Interisland Line.
