1989 Turkish ship breakers, Aliaga Additional NotesBuilt for Tasmanian Steamers Pty Ltd, a company jointly owned by Huddart Parker Ltd and Union Company for the Launceston - Melbourne passenger service. When new she had two funnels but after war service in 1946 these were replaced by one taller funnel destroying her attractive lines and making her similar to HINEMOA. Her funnel was painted top half Union Company and bottom half Huddart Parker.
During World War 2 used as a fast troop transport and over 4 years carried 100,000 troops on 100 voyages mainly in SW Pacific.
