AddBy: Raymond Berntsen18th Mar 2019 9:08AMMy father Ray Berntsen sailed as crewmember out of San Francisco on the Pamir in 1941. He told a few stories and one was of his participation of induction into King Neptune's realm upon crossing the equator. Last week while visiting the Wellington NZ museum I came upon a picture of two sailors on the Pamir with long blond wigs dressed up for this ceremony on the decK. The sailor on the right in the coconut shell bra is My father.
