Details
DescriptionBuilt in 1944 by A Hall, Aberdeen as EMPIRE JANE. This and sister ship purchased by Union Company as replacement for two old wellington harbour tugs NATONE and TERAWHITI. Both tugs travelled to Wellington together arriving in October 1947. Sold to British Petroleum and remained working in Wellington to assist bunker barge operations under Union Company management. Towed to Tauranga in 1978 and placed in a museum. In 2000 refloated and scuttled off Mount Maunganui.
